Toulouse France

If a triangle could be drawn with the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees Mountain as its three vertexes, Toulouse will fall at the middle of the triangle. Toulouse is the fourth largest city in France and the capital of Midi-Pyrenees, the largest region in France. The city is situated on the banks of the Garonne River. The oldest canal of Europe, the Canal du Midi runs through the centre of the city. Canal de Brienne is another canal that traverses the city. Rivers Touch and Hers-Mort also flow through the city. It’s called the pink town, “La Ville Rose” because of the pink bricks used in the buildings.
Aerospace engineering and hi-tech industries like information technology and biotechnology are the major industries in the city. The Toulouse space centre is the largest space centre in Europe. The largest manufacturer of satellites in Europe is also situated in Toulouse. Many work for the Airbus, making it the largest employer of the city. It’s the fifth most dynamic city in the world.
Cité de l’Espace
The space city in Toulouse is an entertaining place for children. It has a planetarium and a science park. Models of satellites, rockets and other spacecrafts are displayed at the park. Bus route No. 37 from the Joliment metro station takes to the space city. The entrance fees are €18.5 for adults and €12 for children.
Transport in Toulouse
The Toulouse metro system is called the VAL, Véhicule Automatique Léger. These trains are automated trains that operate without drivers. The main train station is Toulouse-Matabiau. The two major airports are Toulouse Blagnac and Toulouse Lasbordes. An interesting feature of Toulouse transport system is the renting of bi-cycle. It’s called the VélôToulouse. Anyone can pick up a bi-cycle from an automated station on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Rugby and football are the most played games in Toulouse.
Toulouse Attractions
Among the hotels in France, Toulouse hotels are economical and well-connected to important places of interest. Most tech people who are moving to France prefer to get settled in Toulouse because of its vibrant atmosphere and technological advances.
There are pleasant places of attractions in the city. Many museums with collections of extensive art works can be seen in Toulouse. The Pont Neuf, the Musee des Augustins, Les Abattoirs, Foundation Bemberg, Saint-Sernin Basilica, Les Jacobins monastery church, Notre-Dame du Taur Church, Hôtel d’Assézat, Capitole, City park at the Grand Rond, Georges Labit Museum and Saint-Etienne cathedral are a few among the popular tourist attractions in Toulouse.
